Winter Warm Up

What: 5 Week Clinic - Different focus each week

5-10 min stickwork, 25 min with attack specialist, 25 min with defense specialist

When: 5 Tuesday Evenings, January 29 - February 26

5:00-6:00 pm

Who: Girls lacrosse players in 5th through 11th grade

Where: Superdome Sports - 134 Hopper Ave, Waldwick, NJ 07463

Curriculum:

Each week will be structured the same: 5-10 minutes of stickwork, 25 minutes with defense specialist Hilary Renna, 25 minutes with attack specialist Kelsey Rehain.  Players will be grouped with their age group and rotate between the two coaches.  Weekly focus listed below.

Week 1: 1v1's

Week 2: Man-Up Attack, Man-Down Defense

Week 3: Man-Down Attack, Double Teams on Defense

Week 4: Cutting to Goal and Finishing, Denying the Cut and Interceptions

Week 5: Scrimmage - The culmination of the clinic, we will be putting together all the skills for a complete scrimmage.


Winter Warm Up will be run by Hilary Renna and Kelsey Rehain.  

Hilary Renna is our Defense Specialist.  Hilary attended University of Pennsylvania where she was a four year starter on defense.  Hilary helped lead Penn to 3 Ivy League Championship titles and 3 Final Four appearances.  Her collegiate playing honors include numerous Ivy League Defender of the Week awards, First Team All-American, First Team All-Ivy, All-Tournament selection, and Tewaarton Award Nominee.  Hilary graduated from Penn in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology.  Hilary currently works as the assistant director for Metro Lacrosse Club, as well as the head coach of the Metro Magic 2024 team.

Kelsey Rehain is our Attack Specialist.  Kelsey attended Manhattan College where she was a four year starter on both attack and midfield.  After college, Kelsey earned her Masters Degree in Adapted Physical Education.  While working towards her Masters Degree, Kelsey was the assistant varsity coach at Longmeadow high school.  Kelsey has worked for Metro for the last two years, as well as coaching at Suffern high school.  Kelsey is currently the head coach of the 2021 Metro Magic team and the JV coach at Suffern high school.
